Marina Ballerina wins Cool Air Stakes

MIAMI (AP) Marina Ballerina recovered from a rough start to win the $55,000 Cool Air Stakes on Saturday at Calder.

Bereba took second and Rate of Exchange came in third in the seven horse field. Charlie Papa, who had won the Cool Air the last two years, was scratched after the race was switched from the grass to a sloppy main track.

Marina Ballerina, ridden by Eduardo Nunez, ran the five furlongs in 59 2-5 and paid 3.00, 2.20 and 2.10. Bereba paid 4.20 and 2.40. Rate of Exchange paid 2.40 to show.

The win snapped an eight-race losing streak for Marina Ballerina.
