Love That Dance romps in Monmouth feature
OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) Love That Dance earned a wire-to-wire win in the $60,000 Open Mind Handicap at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating Love For Not by 3 1/2 lengths.
Trained by Ben Perkins Jr., and ridden by Joe Bravo, the 3-year-old filly covered the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:09 2/5 and paid $14, $5.80 and $4. Love For Not returned $16.60 and $6.60, while Open Skies was 1} lengths back in third and paid $4.20.
It was the fourth career win and the first this year for Love That Dance, who boosted her overall earnings to $154,549.
"She's a very fast filly and awesome to ride," Bravo said. "Right out of the gate she landed on the front end and relaxed for me."
